high & light timbre, innocent, unsettling

The Yellow Wallpaper has been easily one of my favorite short stories for many years. The way that Gilman perfectly captures the distressful reality of the time through the at first naïve eyes of the protagonist is something that I am yet to see mirrored to equal extent in another. You can imagine then that I was quite excited when I heard that we would be doing sound design for it in my sound design class for my fall semester of Junior year! Not one to waste an opportunity, I took it upon myself to record the narration for it myself, as to give the piece the proper tone that I was looking for. This was a wonderful exercise in both sound design and narration for me, and I am quite content with how it turned out in the end.
